This picture captures the tiny fairy penguins doing their evening penguin march up the beach to their burrows at Phillip Island, Victoria, Australia. They choose to leave the ocean to return home at sunset to avoid predators. One of my favourite pictures taken during travelling outside Canada. Fairy penguins are the smallest species of the Penguin family. There are approx. 32000 left in this colony site near Southern Australia.
