"S.S.Kyle" - This steamship was built in the UK in 1912 . It served as a ferry at one point between Newfoundland and Labrador. In 1960's, it was bought by a Carbonear firm and transformed into a sealing ship. 1n 1967, while awaiting repair, a severe storm blew it off its mooring and has since lodged in its current resting place in Riverhead, Harbour Grace. More artifacts and stories can be found in the "Kyle" Room at the Kearney Tourist Chalet in Harbour Grace. It has remained a point of interest or tourist attraction over the years.
