In 2017, Michelle set up her company AMMO Artworks, and began selling her paintings. AMMO represents the initials of her full name (Anne Michelle Myrick Olsen), but she goes by Michelle. By the end of her first year in business, she had sold 99 pieces and had orders for more. Her work can be found in collections in Norway, United Kingdom, Abu Dhabi, Qatar, India, USA, and Canada.
A self-taught professional musician and visual artist, Michelle has traveled extensively, and has lived and worked in Saudi Arabia, Abu Dhabi, South Korea, India, and now Norway.
Born and raised at Cape Pine Lighthouse in Newfoundland, Canada, and as the daughter of a lighthouse keeper with the heritage of six generations of Myrick light-keepers, having a desire to help guide others is something that comes naturally to Michelle.
As an artist, Michelle hopes that by telling her stories she can inspire others to believe in themselves, and their ability to overcome any adversity they may face. She believes that art should inspire rather than impress. Therefore the intention behind AMMO Artworks' pieces is to guide the viewer back to their capacity for happiness, love, and success. She feels that each individual is a bright light - as bright as any lighthouse beacon could ever be. With her work, she aspires to remind her collectors that they can and must shine their bright light in the world.
