A feather left by a grouse in the Hawke Hills Ecological Reserve. The vibrant orange feather with characteristic black stripes pops out in contrast against the low-lying lush green vegetation of the barrens. No staging necessary, the grouse left this feather almost as if it were an offering for my camera.
