Springtime In St. John's
In the spring of the year, ice floes often jam coves and harbours with pack ice, making it difficult for fishermen to get out to the fishing grounds. St. John's habour will often get clogged with pack ice as well but it isn't usually heavy enough to impede the flow of the vessels that navigate the harbour.
