Five miles north of Fogo Island, accessible only by boat or time machine, lies a magical chain of almost 100 tiny islands called Little Fogo Islands. The once-busy fishing community, in close proximity to good fishing grounds, fell victim to resettlement. The last family left in 1937. It's a great place to see icebergs in the spring, countless species of birds, and if you're lucky, whales and porpoises.
