Nestled along the rugged coastline of Newfoundland and Labrador’s Bonavista Peninsula, the small town of Elliston is home to one of the most remarkable and accessible Atlantic puffin nesting sites in North America. Known as the provincial bird of Newfoundland and Labrador, the Atlantic puffin (Fratercula arctica), often affectionately called the "sea parrot" due to its vibrant, multicolored beak and clown-like appearance, draws thousands of visitors each year to this picturesque outport community. The Elliston Puffin Viewing Site offers a unique opportunity to observe these charismatic seabirds up close in their natural habitat.
